The Strong regional involvement
INNOTHERA employs 1000 persons in which 600 in France, both at its headquarters and its two main regional sites:
The Loir-et-Cher for medicines
The first phase of decentralization of the company began in 1973 from the Group’s historical headquarters in Arcueil (Val de Marne). The plant in Chouzysur- Cisse (Loir-et-Cher) was given the task of bringing together and developing pharmaceutics production. The search for greater efficiency led the Group to build a new pharmaceutical development center in 2004, bringing all the plant’s laboratories (galenic development, analytical development, microbiology, physico- chemistry/quality control) together. The Chouzy site now employs 160.
The Vosges for medical devices
In reaction to the promising development of sales related to compression products, INNOTHERA began construction of a new production plant in the Vosges (Nomexy), reviving a tradition that had led to the establishment of numerous family-owned spinning and weaving mills in the Vosges mountains. This medically-oriented textile production and development unit went into service late in 1999. The initial investment of 16.4 million euros resulted in the creation of 120 permanent jobs. Today’s workforce has gone well beyond that number, standing at 180. The activity at the original site in Neufchâtel (Switzerland) was also repatriated to Nomexy.
Despite the heavy constraints on the health industries, unlike many laboratories that have moved production outside France, Arnaud Gobet and his family have participated in the major industrial changes France has undergone by making the choice of maintaining the INNOTHERA sites in the Vosges and the Loir-et- Cher. That choice has contributed to maintaining a fabric of technological industries and supporting employment in those regions.
