Increasing internationalization
The first export department at INNOTHERA was created in 1974.
Exporting has been a part of the life of the Group for more than 30 years. At first oriented exclusively toward French-speaking countries (the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa), the Group now exports to more than 100 countries with variable levels of penetration from one region of the globe to another.
Finally, a new program of extension is under way, following the decision to establish a presence in the United States. The export business, originally developed to compensate for the collapse of the French pharmaceuticals market, accounted for 80% of the Group’s sales of medicines in 2007.
This success is the concrete result of organizational choices and industrial investments. In most countries, Innothera has created its own subsidiaries or offices, preferring to organize its own promotion rather than simply granting licenses.
The group has invested in a fabrication plant in Ireland, and has established eight other sites in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Togo and Senegal. This strategy has given INNOTHERA a place within the ranks of French companies who are contributing to developing external trade.
